MTV VMA Nominations include The Weeknd, Ariana Grande and Beyonce

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards have been announced and Anonymous Content is thrilled to be included in the nominations. Director Grant Singer’s music video projects garnered three nominations.   His video, The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”, is up for Best Male Video and Best VFX (with Brewster Parsons).  Additionally, his work has been nominated in the Best Collaboration category for Ariana Grande and Lil Wayne’s video “Let Me Love You”. Mark Romanek’s direction in Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” will be making an appearance at this year’s awards. The visual album is up for Breakthrough Long Format Video, of which his direction for “Sandcastles”, will be featured.

An additional congratulations to our partners! Jonas Akerlund of Serial Pictures, also earned the Breakthrough Long Format nomination for “Lemonade”.  Akerlund’s work on the yellow dress, car-smashing favorite, “Hold Up”, is nominated for Best Female Video and Best Art Direction (with  Jason Hougaard).  Iconoclast’s Paul Geusebroek directed Desiigner’s “Panda” which earned the artist a Best Male Video and Best New Artist nomination.

We are looking forward to the awards on Aug 28.  In the meantime vote for your favorite Anonymous videos here.
