Lifeline Wins Juror’s Choice at Brand Film Festival

Writer/Director Armando Bo’s 30-minute branded content thriller “Lifeline” won Best of the Best at New York’s Brand Film Festival, which awarded Qualcomm and Anonymous Content in collaboration with Ogilvy and DiGennaro Communications, along with Bo.

Bo also headlined the festival with an intimate Q&A with Judy John, CEO of Canada and chief creative officer of North America at Leo Burnett.

During the festival, Bo said “There’s a lot of space to create a story, characters. I think an ambitious client is the most important thing, someone who wants to do something really meaningful…Everybody’s so afraid of changing.”

Asked what advice he’d give to clients and agencies, his answer was the same for both: just create, especially given the amount of money spent on advertising. “It’s so easy to be developing stuff,” Bo said. “If I were a client, I’d be developing 20 projects at the same time.”

“Lifeline,” which stars Olivia Munn, Wang Leehom, and Joan Chen, uses a smartphone as a means to reveal the mystery behind a young woman’s disappearance. View the full film at lifelinefilm.com.
