Andrew Douglas is an award-winning director whose work depicts an unmistakable photographic elegance. He has directed a multitude of high-profile commercials around the globe for brands such as Apple, Audi, Coca-Cola, Nike and Sony PlayStation, to note just a few. Along the way, he has collaborated with top agencies including Wieden+Kennedy, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Venables Bell & Partners and TBWA/Chiat/Day.
Douglas’ talents as a storyteller extend to features as well. uwantme2killhim? is his most recent, now making rounds at festivals. It is adapted from Judy Bachrach’s true-story Vanity Fair article about a jaw-dropping teenage Internet imbroglio, which led to an attempted murder. Douglas also directed Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus, a documentary Rotten Tomatoes calls “… both quirky and lovely;” it depicts “alt country” singer Jim White on a captivating and compelling road trip through the creative spirit of the Bible-Belt South. And he directed the remake of classic American horror story Amityville Horror, starring Ryan Reynolds.
Born in the U.K., Douglas jumped into the arts and entertainment world immediately after receiving a degree in fine art, and working as a photographic assistant to Lord Snowdon. For the next decade he worked as a photographer in the music and publishing industries. He eventually partnered with his brother Stuart as The Douglas Brothers and gained worldwide acclaim with regular commissions from Esquire, The Face and New York Times Magazine, among others. Their photos exhibited often in leading galleries in both New York and London.
