Geisel Productions and Anonymous Content Win Best of Show for BMW Films’ “The Escape” at One Screen Film Festival

Geisel Productions and Anonymous Content’s branded short “BMW Films: The Escape” took home Best of Show at last night’s One Screen Film Festival, produced by the prestigious The One Club for Creativity.

An homage to the 15th anniversary of the critically acclaimed original seven BMW films, “The Escape” was directed by Academy Award-nominee Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) and features original BMW Films star and Oscar-nominated actor Clive Owen (Closer, Children of Men) reprising his role as The Driver. Along with Owen, BMW also brought back core members of the original creative team at Fallon: Bruce Bildsten as Creative Director, Brian DiLorenzo as Executive Producer and David Carter, who in addition to serving as a Creative Director, co-wrote “The Escape” alongside Blomkamp. Original BMW Films’ production lead and Fallon creative partner, Anonymous Content also returned to produce.

The One Screen win comes almost exactly a year from the action-packed film’s initial release and 15 years after the original BMW Film “The Hire” won Best of Show at The One Club in 2002. Widely regarded as a milestone in the history of branded film, in 2010, the BMW Films series was also honored by The One Club as Best of the Digital Decade.

“This honor brings it all full circle,” says Bildsten, “Especially coming from The One Club, the creative organization our industry most admires. Brian, David and I were honored that BMW trusted us to create the sequel to such iconic, groundbreaking work.”

“We are incredibly honored to have ‘The Escape’ receive Best of Show from the premiere festival that unites the film and advertising worlds,” says Eric Stern, Managing Director and Partner of Anonymous Content. “This recognition truly speaks to the power of our collaboration, as well as our partners’ ability to produce narrative-first branded content.”

“The Escape” also stars Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds, I am Sam), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, Daredevil) and Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in the Air).
