We are thrilled to announce seasoned producer Omar Bustos has joined Anonymous Content as an Executive Producer of its commercial division. In this role, Omar will work alongside managing director, partner and executive producer Eric Stern to represent some of the company’s top directing talents, as well as identify emerging filmmakers.
An industry veteran with more two decades of experience in entertainment, advertising and commercial production, ranging from high-octane Super Bowl spots to long-form branded storytelling, Bustos has collaborated with renowned directors including Taika Waititi, Mike Mills, Henry Scholfield, and Sofia Coppola, with whom he worked on two feature films. He also played a key role in developing the Emmy-winning Netflix documentary series Cheer.
Bustos comes to Anonymous Content from Crispin, where as the agency’s VP, Head of Production, he spearheaded the development of award-winning brand entertainment and 360 campaigns for top-tier clients such as Old Navy, MLB, PepsiCo., and Netflix. Prior to that role, he worked as a commercial line for producer for production companies RESET, Psyop, and Hungry Man.
“Omar’s combination of creative intuition, production and agency expertise, and personal integrity makes him an incredible addition to Anonymous Content,” says Stern. “We are excited to see him embrace both the creative and strategic sides of his new role.”
“The films that stay with us are the ones that take risks, that challenge the way we see ourselves and each other. It’s an honor to join Eric and Anonymous Content, whose track record proves the power of bold, original storytelling. I’m excited to help champion voices that continue that tradition. Voices that are urgent, fearless, and unapologetically original.”
Born in Mexico and raised along the U.S.–Mexico border, Bustos grew up in a cultural crossroads where language, identity, and tradition moved freely between nations. While many of his peers were outdoors, he found refuge in the dark of the movie theater, watching films like Do the Right Thing and Raging Bull on repeat. There, he began training his eye learning to recognize the distinct styles, rhythms, and voices of filmmakers who continue to inspire him today.
Though he first pursued a degree and career in Business Finance, Bustos soon realized his true path was in film. He left the corporate world to study Film Studies at San Francisco State University and dedicate himself fully to storytelling.
“Every project begins the same way, on the page,” says Bustos. “What makes them matter is the director’s ability to transform those words into images and emotions that stay with us.”
